What to Bring to College

Necessities: These are items we suggest for each resident.

  • Band-aids and minor first aid supplies
  • Bath Linens: towels, hand towels, washcloths, etc.
  • Cooking supplies: silverware, can opener, microwave-safe dishes, cups, dish towel, dish soap, etc.
  • Decorative items: plants, rugs, posters, pictures
  • Floor lamp
  • Fan
  • Flashlight
  • Hangers for clothes
  • Health and beauty items: deodorant, soap, shampoo, Kleenex, hair products, toiletries
  • Laundry supplies: detergent, fabric softener, and laundry basket/bag, iron & ironing board, etc.
  • Memo board for room door
  • Medications: both prescription and over-the-counter
  • Computer; Microsoft Office is provided to students free of charge.
  • Raincoat/umbrella
  • School supplies: paper, pens, scissors, 3-ring notebook, stapler
  • Sewing kit
  • Shower supplies: bathrobe, shower caddy or bucket, shower shoes or flip-flops, etc.
  • Sports equipment and games: Frisbee, bike, playing cards, etc.
  • Surge protector/power strip (should be UL rated and grounded)
  • Twin Extra Long (36 x 80) Bed Linens (mattress pad/cover, sheets, blankets, comforter, pillows, etc.)

These are items each room will probably want.  Talk to your roommate to determine who will bring which item.

  • Television 
  • Roku/Amazon Firestick 
  • Microwave (One per room, 700 watt or smaller)
  • Refrigerator (One per room – 4.3 cubic feet in size or smaller)

Prohibited Items: The following items violate College policy and should not be in your room.

  • Candles and incense
  • Double-sided foam tape
  • Extension cords or multiple receptacle plugs
  • Halogen and heat lamps
  • Open-coil cooking devices (hot plates, toasters, toaster ovens, indoor grills)
  • Pets (other than fish in aquariums of 10 gallons or less)
  • Space heaters
  • Window air conditioners
  • Hoverboards
