50 Fun Things To Do As A Franklin Student

Here are things we like to do together.

  1. Rub Ben’s Nose for good luck on your way to an exam in Old Main.
  2. Show school spirit at the Homecoming Privy Burn after the pep rally celebration.
  3. Be a part of the Grizzly Grand Prix Festival, held each spring.
  4. After orientation weekend you can enjoy fun activities with your new friends at the Welcome Bash. 
  5. Get a photo sitting with the Ben Franklin statue on campus.
  6. Go to Jefferson Street Pub, or as the students call it, JSL, for stuffed bread sticks and popcorn.
  7. During orientation weekend you will participate in FOCUS (Franklin Offering the Community Unselfish Service) Day, a day dedicated to volunteering around the Franklin community.
  8. Professors will line Dame Mall and cheer you on as you walk to the Bell Ceremony during orientation weekend.
  9. Grab a group of friends and play campus golf. It’s with a tennis ball!
  10. Meet members of Franklin’s faculty and staff as they help you move in on move-in day.
  11. Join one of the many clubs and teams Franklin College has to offer at the Activities Fair.
  12. Enjoy a weekend of activities during Homecoming weekend!
  13. Grab lunch at FC’s tailgate while listening to Dave and Rae, a singing duo that performs at Homecoming.
  14. Celebrate the Grizzly football team at the pep rally with a performance from the FC Dancers and the FC cheerleaders.
  15. Ring the victory bell after winning the annual Victory Bell football game.
  16. Meet the college president at the annual ice cream and a movie event.
  17. Find a group of friends and attend one of the many events put on by the Student Entertainment Board.
  18. Enrich your mind by listening to a visiting speaker as part of the annual convocation lecture series.
  19. Become part of the Grizzly family by joining a sports team.
  20. Have a study session with your friends that accidentally turns into an all-nighter!
  21. Support Franklin College’s theatre program and enjoy a play put on by students.
  22. Discover new talents by acting in a play or creating your own. 
  23. Get in the holiday spirit by supporting your friends at the holiday choral concert.
  24. Enjoy the musical delights of your fellow students at the instrumental concert.
  25. Show off your talents at various campus events and performances.
  26. Visit the Modern Language House for multicultural food and language.
  27. Take a break from studying and get some fresh air with a walk on the Grizzly Park Trail.
  28. Take your education out of the classroom and to another country by studying abroad.
  29. Get real world job experience by completing an internship during Immersive Term.
  30. Cafeteria sit for hours with friends doing homework, socializing, or catching the latest sporting events on the televisions.
  31. Enjoy a night out on the town with a monthly FC on the Town event, sponsored by the Center for Student Involvement.
  32. Study your hardest for the semester and make the Dean’s list.
  33. Visit the local shops in Historic Downtown Franklin, a short walk from campus.
  34. Have a taste for good pizza and famous cheese cubes? Visit The Willard in Downtown Franklin.
  35. Visit the Artcraft Theatre for old time movies.
  36. Grab a coffee and giant cookie before class at the Griz Café in the student center.
  37. Keep off that freshman fifteen by working out in the Spurlock Center.
  38. Expand your thoughts on religion and your faith by attending a weekly Chapel service.
