Show your Grizzly Pride while you drive!

You can show your Franklin College pride with an official license plate, issued in Indiana! A Franklin College license plate is a great way to take your school spirit everywhere you drive!

All Indiana residents are eligible to obtain a Franklin College plate. Whether you’re a current student, a graduate, a friend of the College, or a parent, spouse, or grandparent of a Franklin College student, anyone can purchase a Franklin College license plate through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).

How do I get my first Franklin College plate OR renew my Franklin College plate?

After receiving the BMV notice to renew your license plate, proceed as you typically would by renewing online at https://www.in.gov/bmv/registration-plates/home/, by phone, by mail or by visiting a license branch or partner location. You will receive your Franklin College plate or sticker in the mail within 14 days.

When choosing a Plate Type, simply select Franklin College—SP. If you’d like a Franklin College motorcycle plate, select Franklin College—MC. Also be sure to CHECK THE BOX to elect tax benefits for your purchase. Without checking the waiver, your donation comes to the college as an anonymous gift. All proceeds help support the Franklin Fund.

How much does it cost?

The Indiana BMV stipulates a minimum fee of $25 be collected in order for Franklin College to participate in this program. The BMV will collect and forward this $25 fee to Franklin. This $25 will be used to support the Franklin Fund. An additional $15 special recognition plate fee along with your annual vehicle registration fees are assessed by the BMV (this is not new).

Note: In order for Franklin College to identify you as a donor, the CHECKBOX must be selected.

How will the college receive my $25 contribution?

The BMV will collect and forward the $25 contribution per Grizzly plate to Franklin College. To be personally credited for this gift, be sure to check the waiver on your renewal form (online or in person), giving the BMV permission to release your contact information to the college. Without checking the waiver, your donation comes to the college as an anonymous gift. All proceeds help support the Franklin Fund.
