1 – In the next week or so, you are going to get some US mail from us! Who doesn’t love a good package and some FC swag? Once that package arrives, you will receive your username and password to begin the New Student Checklist. If for some reason this packet doesn’t arrive to you, reach out to our Director of First Year engagement or to the office of admissions.

2 – The Checklist – it’s designed to set you off on a path for success and will provide crucial information as we prepare for your arrival at New Student Registration. If you’ve given some thought to the items below, your checklist should take about 30-40 minutes to complete. Please note that you’ll need extra time to take your Foreign Language Placement Exam, which is housed inside the checklist. Allow 90 minutes for the French or German exam and 60 minutes for the Spanish exam.

Items you’ll need before you start the Checklist:

  • A good internet connection
  • Some prior thought about your academic area of interest
  • Contact information for your parents/legal guardian
  • Information about your hometown newspaper
  • Your health records; including dates of vaccinations
  • Your health insurance company (if you have one)

3 – If you want priority for your First-Year Seminar class, the most options for picking your New Student Registration date and to ease your mind about housing assignments, do not delay in completing the Checklist.

4 – We understand that college is expensive but we are committed to keeping a Franklin College education affordable. Last year we awarded over $29 million dollars in aid to students.
