Coronavirus Update – August 3, 2020

To the Campus Community,

Since late May, the primary focus of our work on campus has involved planning and preparing for the safe return of our students, faculty and staff for the fall semester.  I am pleased to share our Return to Campus Plan, “Fortify Franklin,” with you today.  Colleagues from throughout the campus have devoted an enormous amount of time, effort, research and thoughtful discussion to dissecting every aspect of our enterprise and developing effective mitigation protocols and strategies to avoid the spread of infection on campus.

Our Plan has been reviewed and approved by local health care professionals, with whom we will continue to partner throughout the academic year.  Our goal is to safely provide our students with as much of the traditional Franklin College experience as possible.

Please click here to view a short video message introducing our Return to Campus Plan.  The entire Plan is available here.  Our communication strategy moving forward will include frequent emails and social media posts to remind the campus community of the “new normal” that awaits us all as the fall semester commences.

It is important in times of challenge to re-focus on the priority of our work together.  Our success this fall will require that we all take good care of ourselves and of each other.  I know the Franklin College family will do exactly that.  I will be excited to see you all soon.

Sincerely,

Kerry Prather
