Professional Background

I began my career in the Fortune 10 after graduating with a Bachelor’s of science in mathematics from Indiana University.  I later went on to serve under three different governors in the state of Indiana as a director for the Indiana State Lottery Commission before venturing into entrepreneurship and my tenure at Franklin College.  I have held a number of positions in teaching, coaching, and administration at the college and was most recently appointed to the role of director of athletics in 2020.  However, my passion for competition remains, and I continue to serve as the head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.

In My Spare Time…

My wife and I have made the Franklin and Trafalgar area our home since 1996.  In that time, we have raised our three daughters and have seen Franklin grow and prosper in to a wonderful community.  My wife is an elementary school teacher in the Center Grove school district, so we have ties throughout Johnson County.  We currently live in Franklin itself and are members of Grace United Methodist Church.  While my career has been eventful in many ways, working at Franklin College has been the most fulfilling.  It has been a blessing to combine my love for sports with my career and develop so many wonderful relationships with the student-athletes who have touched my life.  I have played many sports competitively at a high level but have gravitated most toward football, basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, and swimming.  I am also an outdoor enthusiast and spend much of my free time cycling, jogging, camping, fishing, and hunting across Indiana and throughout the United States.
