Franklin College is committed to providing a comprehensive benefit program as an integral part of each full-time employee’s total compensation package. The following summary highlights the benefits available to you through your employment at the College.

Health Insurance

  • Provider – United Healthcare
  • Fully-insured PPO and H.S.A health insurance
  • Eligible on the first day of the month following date of full time employment
  • 1-800MD – Telemedicine (eligible if enrolled in health insurance)

Dental and Vision Insurance

  • Provider – Lincoln Financial Group
  • Fully-insured dental and vision insurance
  • Eligible on the first day of the month following date of full time employment

Life Insurance

  • Provider – Lincoln Financial Group
  • Basic Term Life and AD&D funded by the College, equal to $50,000
  • Voluntary Supplemental Life Insurance
  • Eligible on the first day of the month following date of full time employment

Long-term Disability Insurance

  • Provider – Lincoln Financial Group
  • Long-term benefits available (elimination period – 3 months/staff; 6 months/faculty)
  • Benefit is 60% of base salary up to $7,500 per month
  • Provides contributions to retirement annuity
  • Eligible after one year of continuous full time employment

Travel Accident Insurance

  • Provider – The Hartford
  • College funded, equal to $50,000 while traveling on college business
  • Eligible on the first day of the month following date of employment

Flexible Spending Account Benefits

  • Provider – United Healthcare
  • Pre-tax health, dental and vision premium contributions
  • Pre-tax spending account for out-of-pocket medical expenses
  • Pre-tax child and elder care

Retirement – 403 (b)

  • Tax Deferred Retirement Annuity program with TIAA.
  • Automatic enrollment upon hire at a 3% employee contribution.
  • Employer contributions will be allocated to the individual accounts of qualifying participants after eligibility is met:
    • Each plan year equal to the sum of 11 percent of the qualifying participant’s compensation for the Plan Year up to $40,000;
    • Plus 15 percent of such qualifying participant’s compensation for Plan Year in excess of $40,000

Tuition Remission

  • Tuition Waiver for employee (one class per semester, fall & spring)
  • 100% tuition remission for spouse and children after one year of full time employment
  • Eligible for tuition exchange for dependent children at participating colleges after one year of full-time employment

FC Wellness Program

The Wellness Program offers free programming to students, faculty and staff including but not limited to yoga, cardio kickboxing and Zumba. Informative programming through our Wellness Wednesday’s is also offered throughout the academic year; as well as the opportunity to check out Wellness equipment such as, racquetball and other sports equipment, all free of charge.
