Dear Students,

As indicated in the message you received from President Prather, we are asking students to vacate Residence Halls and campus houses. Please make plans to return home at the end of your classes on Friday or as soon as it is safely possible. Students must vacate the residence halls no later than 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 15. If you have an exceptional situation that necessitates remaining on campus (examples might include: conducting an internship that hasn’t been canceled or having no permanent residence) please fill out this form to request an exception to remain on campus. This form may also be used if you intend to vacate campus, but will request an extension to the Sunday 5:00 pm deadline. Again, exceptions to that deadline will only be granted for extenuating circumstances, such as difficulty quickly coordinating long distance travel to home.

Students will be asked to complete an abbreviated housing check-out process. Residential Life has worked to make this as easy and smooth as possible. Within the next 30 minutes, there will be specific information posted on your door as has been practice for the past few semesters.  We are treating this as a break closing only. You are not being asked to move out, though of course you’re welcome to take anything with you that you’d like. You do not need to turn in your room keys. Post-spring break return to campus details will be communicated as developed. Please be sure to check your Franklin College email frequently so we can provide you with important updates, information, and support during this time away from campus. We will miss seeing you in person but will be in frequent contact and stand ready to support you, both in your academic work and in your personal well-being, just as if you were on campus.
