June 17 Message to College Community

The tragedy of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis is appalling, and it has unfortunately become commonplace.  For too many years, we have witnessed the shocking violence of racism in images and names in the media.  All are poignant reminders of the reality that Black lives matter, which has never been more vital.

As an educational institution whose mission and core values celebrate equality and opportunity, we seek to collaborate and build bridges to facilitate understanding and compassion.  Our commitment to providing a high quality, value-added experiential learning community is unwavering, and it has never been more needed.

The Board of Trustees and President of Franklin College are unified in our stand against racism and hate.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all those whose lives have been directly impacted by the recent tragic events.
