Franklin College’s annual Homecoming and Alumni Weekend will take place Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Oct. 11. While the COVID-19 restrictions have necessitated a number of adjustments to the usual in-person gatherings, the college is offering several opportunities for alumni to virtually connect. Below are a few of the highlights:
Graduates of years ending in a “0” or a “5” will be celebrating virtual class reunions this year throughout the week. Graduates from the class of 1970 will virtually celebrate their 50th class reunion during the Old Gold Celebration. Registration is required for all class reunions.

This by-invitation only event is for members of the Gold Key Circle and the 1834 Circle. Guests will hear from Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather. For more information on how to become a member of either Circle contact Lee Ann Jourdan at ljourdan@FranklinCollege.edu.
Former poet laureate of Indiana and award-winning writer Adrian Matejka is this year’s first reader in the series, and the event promises to be dynamic and engaging. Registration is required.
This free virtual trivia night will be hosted by Hambone’s Trivia. Join a night of friendly competition and put your general (useless?) knowledge to the test. Registration is required.
Thursday, Oct. 8
A fun and interactive presentation on how to leave your treasure to people and places you love without unintentionally creating tax burdens. Join Melanie Norton CFRE, MBA, a 1990 alumna of the college, for a discussion on smart, tax-savvy ways to meet your philanthropic goals. The session will be moderated by Nora Lowe Brems, director of planned giving and 1987 alumna of the college. Registration is required.
Sunday, Oct. 11
Franklin College will host its 2020 commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. in Stewart “Red” Faught Stadium on campus. The outdoor facility allows for appropriate physical distancing of participants as well as guests, which will be limited to four per graduate. Tickets are required to attend the ceremony and are only distributed to graduates to be used at their discretion. Should inclement weather necessitate, the ceremony will be moved indoors to Spurlock Gymnasium. Since the facility does not allow for appropriate physical distancing protocols, no guests would be invited. Regardless of the venue, the event will be live-streamed on the college website, www.FranklinCollege.edu.
