Students Receive Art Awards

The Franklin College Art Department presented awards at the annual reception of the spring semester student art exhibit on Monday, May 8. Students from all levels of studio art classes displayed a selection of their work completed during the spring semester.

Students who received awards include:

Garrett Fogle, of Brownsburg, received the Best in Show Award, the top honor of the evening, for his advanced painting entry, which also garnered an Award of Excellence. He also received the Award of Purchase for his painting and an Honorable Mention for ceramics.

Sue Stauffer, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence for advanced painting.  

Haven Tunin, of Greenwood, received an Award of Excellence for advanced painting. 

Eli Cochrane, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence for art history, an Award of Excellence for design III and an Award of Merit for advanced fine art photo.

Lola Reed, of Columbus, received an Award of Excellence for art history.

Alia Sarris, of Terre Haute, received an Award of Excellence for art history, an Award of Merit for advanced painting and an Award of Merit for advanced ceramics. She is also the recipient of the Hibbs Scholarship.

Katie Brown, of Noblesville, received an Award of Excellence for drawing. She also received a Rinker Scholarship.

Katie Marshall, of Cincinnati, Ohio, received an Award of Excellence for drawing, an Award of Merit for advanced painting and an Award of Merit for design III.  She also received a Rinker Scholarship.

Reese Otis, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence for drawing.

Jireh Ojata, of Carmel, received an Award of Excellence for design I.

Sarah DeLong, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence for design II and an Award of Excellence for fine art photo.

Spencer Downhour, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence for advanced fine art photo.

Macaylah Hernandez, of Fairland, received an Award of Excellence for ceramics. 

Eric Walthour, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence for advanced ceramics.

Mark Wright, of Martinsville, received an Award of Merit for advanced painting.

Vaughn Reno, of Indianapolis, received an Award of Merit for art history.

John Chappell, of Symsonia, Ky., received an Award of Merit for drawing.

Collin Sanders, of Plainfield, received an Award of Merit for drawing.

Jenna Louden, of Bedford, received an Award of Merit for design I.

Molly Wallace, of Fort Wayne, received an Award of Merit for design II.

Delaney McCafferty, of Brownsburg, received an Award of Merit for fine art photo.

Maddison Holubik, of Brownsburg, received an Award of Merit for advanced fine art photo.

Rutendo Nyamadzawo, of Harare, Zimbabwe, received an Award of Merit for ceramics.

Sherri Dunn, of Elizabethtown, received an Honorable Mention for advanced painting.

Baileigh Hamilton, of Quincy, received an Honorable Mention for art history.

Tyjay Laster, of Lafayette, received an Honorable Mention for drawing.

Willesia Johnson, of Indianapolis, received an Honorable Mention for drawing.

John Asplund, of Bloomington, received an Honorable Mention for design I.

Noah Chaplin, of Greenwood, received an Honorable Mention for design II.

Sydney Byerly, of New Albany, received an Honorable Mention for design III.

Kennedy Bond, of Fort Wayne, received an Honorable Mention for fine art photo.

Kirsten Hunt, of Morgantown, received an Honorable Mention for advanced ceramics.
