Students Receive Art Awards

The Franklin College Art Department presented awards at the annual reception of the fall semester student art exhibit on Monday, December 5. Students from all levels of studio art classes displayed a selection of their work completed during the spring semester.

Students who received awards include:

Haven Tunin, of Greenwood, received the Best of Show Award, the top honor of the evening, for her advanced painting entry. She also received an Award of Merit in advanced painting.

Eric Walthour, of Franklin, received the Award of Purchase. He also received an Award of Merit in advanced ceramics.

Sophie Taylor, of Greenwood, received an Award of Excellence in color & design.

Garrett Fogle, of Brownsburg, received an Award of Excellence in painting I.  

Sue Stauffer, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence in advanced painting.

William (Joey) Brock, of Indianapolis, received an Award of Excellence in art history.

Collin Sanders, of Plainfield, received an Award of Excellence in art history.

Hann Lucas, of Indianapolis, received an Award of Excellence in drawing.

Olivia Varvel, of Greencastle, received an Award of Excellence in drawing, an Award of Merit in painting I and an Honorable Mention in color & design.

Sarah DeLong of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence for design I, an Award of Merit for color & design and an Award of Merit in drawing.

Emily Cumbee, of Gosport, received an Award of Excellence in design II.

Eli Cochrane, of Franklin, received an Award of Excellence in fine art photo, an Award of Merit in art history and an Honorable Mention in painting I.

Sarah Mendoza, of Indianapolis, received an Award of Excellence in advanced fine art photo.  

Kirsten Hunt, of Morgantown, received an Award of Excellence in ceramics.   

Katie Marshall, of Cincinnati, Ohio, received an Award of Excellence in advanced ceramics. 

Lucas Gamel, of Flora, received an Award of Merit in color & design and an Honorable Mention in advanced ceramics.

Alia Sarris, of Terre Haute, received an Award of Merit in painting I.

Claire Cherry, of New Palestine, received an Award of Merit in art history.

Noah Chaplin, of Markleville, received an Award of Merit in design I and an Honorable Mention in fine art photo.

Reese Otis, of Franklin, received an Award of Merit in design I.

Lola Reed, of Columbus, received an Award of Merit in fine art photo.

 Hannah Johnson, of Indianapolis, received an Award of Merit in advanced fine art photo.

William Carlson, of New Albany, received an Award of Merit in ceramics.

Katie Brown, of Noblesville, received an Award of Merit in advanced ceramics.

Ken Ritter, of Greenwood, received an Honorable Mention in advanced painting.

Caitlyn Moore, of Greenwood, received an Honorable Mention in art history.

Zoe Benefiel, of Morristown, received an Honorable Mention in drawing.

Savannah Wanless, of Chesterton, received an Honorable Mention in drawing.

Josie Lyons, of Coatesville, received an Honorable Mention in design I.

Emma Vannice, of Columbus, received an Honorable Mention in design I.

Kiara McGuyer, of Clayton, received an Honorable Mention in fine art photo.

Eriana Wagner, of Indianapolis, received an Honorable Mention in fine art photo.

Maddison Holubik, of Brownsburg, received an Honorable Mention in advanced fine art photo.

Padgett Hedger, of Cold Springs, Ky., received an Honorable Mention in ceramics.
