Music Department Announces December Holiday Concerts

The Franklin College Music Department is hosting three performances in December. All concerts will be held in the Clarence E. & Inez R. Custer Theatre in Old Main, located at the corner of Branigin Blvd. and Monroe Street. Franklin College Music Department performances are free and open to the public.

Choral Concerts:

The choral concerts will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. The performances will feature the Franklin College Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus and the FC Singers.

The choral concerts will be directed by Casey J. Hayes, Ph.D., professor of music and A.J. Thurston Endowed Chair of Music. The concerts will feature the voice students of Eric DeForest, D.M.A., assistant professor of music. Chang Shen will be accompanying performances on piano.

 Instrumental Concert:

The instrumental concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The performance will showcase the FC percussion ensemble, FC string ensemble and the FC wind ensemble. The groups are under the direction Ross Venneberg, D.M.A., visiting professor of music and director of instrumental activities.

Multiple brass, string, piano, woodwind and percussion students will be featured during the performance.
