Franklin College Greek Students Initiated into Honorary

Franklin College’s Omicron Xi Chapter of Order of Omega, a national leadership honor society for sophomores, juniors and seniors involved in the Greek system, celebrated the initiation of 20 students in a ceremony held on campus on April 17, 2024.

Twenty-six years after Franklin College was founded in 1834, the Indiana Delta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity was founded on April 28, 1860. The founding date of this fraternity established the beginning of a 164-year relationship between Franklin College and Greek-letter student organizations. Franklin College’s Greek life members currently make up 28 percent of the campus population.

Membership in the Omicron Xi Chapter of the Order of Omega at Franklin College is comprised of the top three percent of Greek leaders. Members are selected based on leadership skills, campus involvement, volunteer hours and academic achievement. The Omicron Xi Chapter has initiated over 200 leaders since its chartering in 1995. 

Students inducted into the honorary include:

Sydney Byerly, a member of Pi Beta Phi and a resident of New Albany.

Sydney Carson, a member of Pi Beta Phi and a resident of Westport.

Delaney Cornn, member of Delta Delta Delta and resident of Shelbyville.

Gabriella Cunningham, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and resident of Florissant, MO.

Isabella Frye, a member of Pi Beta Phi and resident of and resident of Bargersville.

Elliot Gough, a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and resident of Ellettsville.

Ailyn Hendricks, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and resident of Franklin.

Hillari Hensley, a member of Pi Beta Phi and resident of Franklin.

Emma Jones, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and resident of Greenwood.

Kaitlyn Lavy, a member of Pi Beta Phi and resident of Plainfield.

Robert McCoy, a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and resident of Whiteland.

Kiara McGuyre, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and resident of Clayton.

Carleigh Miller, a member of Delta Delta Delta and resident of Argos.

Caitlyn Moore, a member of Delta Delta Delta and resident of Greenwood.

Emily Peters, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and resident of Trafalgar.

Kendall Potts, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and resident of Haubstadt.

Kaleigh Schuler, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and resident of Floyds Knobs.

Clayton Shull, a member of Kappa Delta Rho and resident of Muncie.

Katie Thoman, a member of Delta Delta Delta and resident of Rushville.

Nicholas Whitecotten, a member of Kappa Delta Rho and resident of Greenwood.

“Order of Omega is a special way to recognize many of our incredible Greek leaders on campus. These students go above and beyond in the classrooms, their Greek chapters, and the community. Their membership is not only a way to celebrate their accomplishments, but also provides them with continued leadership and scholarship opportunities at Franklin College,” said Jill Peffley, associate director of student involvement and Greek life at Franklin College.
