Campus News

Franklin College has announced the appointment of David C. DeWitt as the new director of development and planned giving at the college. DeWitt began his new position at the college on June 3.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dave back to Franklin College,” said Nora Brems, interim vice president of institutional advancement. “Dave is a relationship person at his core and coupled with his proven track record in fundraising, he will be an invaluable addition to our team. I look forward to the immediate impact he will have, as well as the pipeline he will build for the future through planned giving.”

DeWitt returns to Franklin College from Indiana University Southeast, where he served as the lead development officer. He is no stranger to Franklin College, having previously worked in admissions and financial aid, and from 1996 to 2000, he served as the college’s director of planned giving. Over the years, he has honed his skills by working with several non-profits, including the University of Indianapolis, Marian University, St. Francis Healthcare Foundation and Damar Services, Inc.

“My roots with the college and the city of Franklin run deep, as I was born and have lived most of my life here. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the college once again and look forward to reconnecting with and getting to know the many alumni and friends of the college.”

DeWitt earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Franklin College in 1985 and a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.

He is the proud parent of Abby and Anna DeWitt, Ashlyn (DeWitt) Couch, a 2010 Franklin College graduate, and Alec DeWitt, a 2014 alumnus. His late brother, Danny, is honored through the Danny DeWitt Endowed Scholarship at the college established by the DeWitt family in 1995.
