College Presents Two Art Exhibits
Events and Lectures

The Franklin College Art Department invites the public to two upcoming art exhibits and receptions. Both events will be hosted in the Elba L. & Gene Portteus Branigin Atrium on the first floor of the Johnson Center for Fine Arts. Both events free of charge.

The first exhibit is the inaugural Franklin College High School Art Exhibition, Opening Reception and Award Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 5. It will begin at 1:30 p.m. High school students from around the state were invited to submit works of art in all media and subject matter for the juried exhibition. The college will award nearly $10,000 in prizes and scholarships to the winners.

The second event will be the Franklin College Student Art Exhibit and Opening Reception on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. Students from all levels of studio art classes will display a selection of their work completed during the fall semester. Awards will be presented and select pieces of art work will be available for purchase.

The Johnson Center for Fine Arts is located at the corner of Branigin Blvd. and Grizzly Drive. Parking is available in the two adjacent parking lots.
