Franklin College held its annual spring honors convocation on April 28, 2022. Academic departments recognized students with merit awards and scholarships based on their work during the 2021-2022 academic year.

The following students were honored for earning academic awards:

Titus S. Ammerman, of Whittier, CA, received the Dr. Gertrude Geraets Award for Mathematics and Computing and the Fields-Borgerding Prize for Excellence in Data Science.

Jill C. Anspaugh, of Shelbyville, received the Robert A. Johnson Leadership Award and the William D. Province Endowed Scholarship for pre-medical students.

Britany A. App, of Montezuma, was honored for completion of the Pulliam Fellowship.

John P. Asplund, of Bloomington, received the Spanish Intermediate Level Award for Modern Languages.

Avery A. Auton, of Franklin, received the Elba L. “Babe” Branigin Jr., Law Scholarship and the Dr. Elmon Williams Law Study Award for Political Science.

Libby K. Baker, of Greenwood, received the Psychology Department Junior Academic Excellence Award.

Victoria M. Barhydt, of Fort Wayne, received the Randall O. Kahn Endowment Scholarship for Liberal Arts from the Philosophy & Religion Department.

Lillian Benefiel, of Morristown, received the Department of English and Creative Writing Award.

Clayton W. Black, of Troy, Ohio, received the Thomas R. Killey History Scholarship.

Sydney H. Bostic, of Aurora, received the Truman and Mildred Hoover Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry & Physics and the Dr. George W. Ritteman Endowed Scholarship.

Dylan T. Boswell, of Butlerville, received the Betty Flynn Johnson Endowed Scholarship for Education.

William J. “Joey” Brock, of Indianapolis, received the John D. Peterson Endowed Scholarship in Finance.

Carter M. Brown, of New Castle, received the James C. Williams Endowed Internship Award for Economics, Business and Accounting.

Alisha L. Burch, of Coatesville, received the Master of Science in Athletic Training Graduate Award for Outstanding Academics.

Lauren M. Burker, of Morgantown received the Outstanding Senior in Sociology Award.

Sydney A. Byerly, of New Albany received the Scott Alexander Journalism Scholarship.

Cambria M. Caldwell, of Crawfordsville, received the Lew and Florence White Endowed Scholarship for Philosophy & Religion.

Alli E. Campbell, of Greenwood, received the E. Don & Joyce Tull Endowed Scholarship for Economics, Business and Accounting.

Jonathan B. Campos, of Tallahassee, Fla., received the Freshman Computing Award.

Haley E. Card, of Indianapolis, received the Truman and Mildred Hoover Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry & Physics.

David A. Carpenter, of Milan, received the Gladys Pitcher Greer Memorial Endowed Award in Education.

Sydney B. Carson, of Westport, received the French Intermediate Level Award for Modern Languages.

Kameron B. Case, of Charlestown, received the William and Ruth Kerlin Hibbs Pre-Med Scholarship.

Kennedi N. Casey, of Martinsville, received the Louise Cooperider Bowling Endowed Scholarship from Delta Delta Delta.

Justin J. Clary, of Lafayette, received the Indiana Certified Public Accountants Award.

Michael A. Daniels, Franklin College Class of 2014, of Portland, received the McKinney Franklin Law Scholar Award, granted to an alumnus of Franklin College.

Elliot J. Davidson, of Zionsville, received the Richard M. Park Prize for Excellence in Applied Mathematics.

Henry M. Davidson, of Zionsville, received the Thorp Wolford Award for Excellence in Quantitative Analysis.

Allison P. Davis, of Salem, received the William Wayland Kenower ’81 Award for History.

Cooper E. Davis, of Carthage, received the Robert A. Johnson Leadership Award and the Thomas R. Killey History Scholarship.

Thomas J. Deere, of Union, Ky., received the Professor Charles A. Deppe Endowed Scholarship for pre-medical students.

Brayden R. Devenport, of Franklin, received the John Grimmer Prize for Excellence in Engineering.

Spencer M. Downhour, of Franklin, received the Theatre Department Award.

Amy P. Garrido Portillo, of Greenwood, received the Montell Ogdon International Law & Diplomacy Endowed Scholarship and the Spanish Service Award.

Hailey J. Gilbert, of Shelbyville, received the Dr. Jerry L. Curnutt Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry & Physics.

Isaac S. Gleitz, of Corydon, received the Jerry Miller Memorial Scholarship for Journalism and the Richard Vandivier Scholarship for Political Science, as well as following college awards: the Intercultural Honors Experience Award, the Leonard Foreign Language/Travel Endowed Award and the William & Lynn Vandivier Bridges Endowment.
