College Exceeds Franklin Fund Goal
Campus News

Franklin College announced it has exceeded its Franklin Fund goal for the 2020-2021 fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2021. This is the second consecutive year the college crossed the $700,000 mark in donations to the fund, with last year being the first in college history.

The college raised $728,098, exceeding the goal of $675,000 for the fiscal year. The total represents generous gifts made by trustees, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students, community friends and corporate partners.

Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather expressed both gratitude to donors and recognition of the successful work of faculty and staff.  “It is inspiring to the entire campus community for our alumni and friends to express their confidence in the college and its mission with such incredible generosity.  At the same time, this achievement also reflects the commitment and expertise of the development and alumni engagement staff as well as the many faculty, staff and trustees who contribute to the institutional advancement effort.”

Gifts to the annual fundraising effort provide student financial aid, as well as support for ongoing student learning opportunities.

“Franklin College, and especially our students, are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our donors,” said Dana Cummings, vice president for development and alumni engagement. “Each gift helps the college support students with need-based financial assistance, making a college education possible for some who could not attend otherwise. The college is committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for each student, while maintaining a tuition rate that is as affordable as possible, and the Franklin Fund is a critical piece of the puzzle.”

“Being a scholarship recipient has allowed me to pursue my education at Franklin College without the heavy burden of student loans,” said Dylan Harker, a 2021 graduate. “Those who have contributed have enabled me to strive for excellence in the classroom and develop my passion for mathematics.”
