College Announces Details About #GRIZTuesday
Events and Lectures

Franklin College will host an online fundraiser titled #GRIZTuesday on Tuesday, Nov. 28, with all donations supporting its athletic programs.

Dana Cummings, Franklin College vice president for institutional advancement, noted that for the fourth consecutive year the college will continue participation in the global day of charitable giving known as Giving Tuesday. “Four years ago, we rebranded the day to GRIZ Tuesday. All funds raised during this 24-hour period are allocated to support our athletic programs.”

“This special day is our single biggest day of the year to show support for the athletic program and all of the student-athletes who take to the court, track, field and pool each and every day to represent Franklin College at the highest levels of sport,” said Franklin College Vice President Andrew A. Hendricks. “The support we receive has a direct impact on each of those athletes by providing the necessary equipment, uniforms and other important needs to give them the experience they deserve and allows us to strengthen our programs to create opportunities for all future Grizzlies yet to come.”

The college is planning to use social media, especially Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and Instagram, to market the 24-hour fundraising effort, as well as email and other college-owned communication channels.

The website link to be accessed for giving will be released on the college’s social media platforms beginning at 12:01 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Donors may direct their gift to their favorite team or the general athletic fund. The giving website will display a real-time running tally of the number of donors and dollars raised for each team, as well as an overall total.

Miller Transportation takes the spotlight as the primary sponsor for the day, with Dunn & Associates lending their support as an additional lead sponsor.
