Graduate programs offering 3+1, 3+2, and 4+1 formats, are generally designed for students to complete both undergraduate and graduated coursework in an accelerated timeframe. Undergraduate financial aid does not carry over into graduate-level study. Undergraduate financial aid may include academic, merit, or other grants and scholarships upon admission to an undergraduate program. Once a student begins taking courses as part of a graduate program, that student is considered a graduate student for financial aid purposes, and all undergraduate scholarships discontinue. This applies equally to students entering the first year of graduate programs like the MSAT program, whose aid and billing structure transition to graduate status at that time.
Franklin College MSAT program offers a limited number of scholarships to admitted students on a first come, first serve basis. Scholarships are based on the student’s undergraduate GPA. A student may be awarded additional scholarship funds for earned credentials (PTA, massage therapy, etc.), certifications (such as massage therapy, manual therapies, or other similar healthcare/sports medicine related certifications), recognized honors/awards, and/or number of observation hours/internship experiences. Awards range from $1000-$5000 and are awarded in the first year of the program. The application for admission serves as the application for these scholarships. Contact the program director for more information.
High school students who earned “Direct Admit” status to the MSAT program are eligible for a $2500 scholarship award upon matriculation into the MSAT program should they meet the undergraduate retention requirements.
External scholarship opportunities for athletic training students are available for students who are members of our state organization, Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association (IATA), our district organization, Great Lakes Athletic Training Association (GLATA), and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). Visit the IATA website: www.iata-usa.org, the GLATA website: www.glata.org, and the NATA website: www.nata.org for more information. It is the responsibility of the student to submit application materials to the appropriate parties and in a timely manner for these scholarship opportunities. Make sure to pay attention to the deadlines associated with each scholarship as they differ from one another.
