    Former Franklin College students who have withdrawn from the college and wish to return must complete the free Application for Readmission. If you have attended another institution since leaving Franklin, you must submit a transfer application and have transcripts forwarded from any previously-attended institutions.

    We offer qualified high school juniors and seniors a unique opportunity to earn college credit by taking courses in English, French, Spanish, math, sciences and the humanities. Credits received may be applied toward a degree at Franklin College or any other institution that will accept the transfer credit.

AP and IB Credit

Franklin College accepts credit for selected College Board Advanced Placement (AP) exams and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Franklin College does not administer these exams. Students should provide an official record of examination results to the Office of the Registrar to be considered for credit. Franklin College does not award credit for College Level Examination Program (CLEP) subject exams; however, CLEP exams may be taken to demonstrate proficiency in the foreign languages.

AP Credit

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program provides an opportunity for high school students to earn college credits and/or advanced placement by enrolling in AP courses in high school and completing the associated AP exam at the conclusion of each course. Franklin College requires a minimum score of 4 on all AP exams. The following table includes the examinations, passing scores, hours of credit allowed and Franklin College course equivalences.

Franklin College will accept AP credit for advance placement in foreign language; however, students should be aware that they can also get advance placement by taking the College’s foreign language placement tests. Please note further clarification listed under Spanish and French Curricula in the Academic Catalog.

IB Credit

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) is an advanced international educational program for high school and college-aged students. Franklin College recognizes credit from the International Baccalaureate academic program and encourages students to submit IB exam scores to the office of academic records for evaluation

Course credit may be granted for IB credit meeting both of the following guidelines:

  1. IB credits taken in the Diploma Programme
  2. IB credits granted for the Higher Level (HL) Examination with scores of 5, 6, or 7.

Important Financial Aid Information

Students will automatically be considered for merit-based scholarships after submitting a complete application. We strongly encourage all students to also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to maximize their consideration for financial assistance. The Franklin College code for FAFSA is 001798. Indiana residents must file the FAFSA by April 15.
