Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computing

“I am passionate about helping students integrate math into their education and applying it in their daily lives. I have always tried, as an educator, to be both challenging and nurturing. Math is present in most professional settings, but it is also essential in gaining a better understanding of the world. I guide students to recognize how math will benefit them in their professional careers and lives beyond Franklin College.”

Educational Background

  • M.S., Purdue University – Indianapolis, IN
  • B.A., Franklin College – Franklin, IN

Expertise

As an educator of mathematics I want to help students see the relationship of their major with mathematics.  I have always been intrigued with finding new ways to connect students to mathematics and increase their understanding in the subject matter. I want to share with students how interesting mathematics can be regardless of their choice of major.

In my spare time...

I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren. I enjoy traveling, especially to the mountains or the beach. I enjoy birdwatching, hiking, and visiting farmers’ markets in each area I visit. I have been involved in my church, Franklin Community Church since I came to Franklin when I was in college.
