High School Students Earn College Credits at Franklin College
The Running Start program offers high school students the opportunity to take college courses in English, math, social and natural sciences and the humanities on the Franklin College campus.
Running Start students receive college credit which may be applied toward a degree at Franklin or other institutions that will accept the transfer credit. Convenient class times allow students to arrange Running Start courses around their high school schedules and activities.

The Application and Registration Process
- Complete the Running Start online application. You will also need to pay a $40 application feel online or through the Franklin College Office of Business and Finance.
- Pay your $50 enrollment deposit. Your deposit will be applied toward tuition costs when they are billed. It can be paid online or through the Office of Business and Finance.
- Select your classes. Students should call the Franklin College Office of Academic Records at 316.739.8019 to discuss course scheduling. Students can register for fall classes as early as April 1 and spring classes as early as November 1.

Running Start allows students to:
- Receive a valuable introduction to the college classroom and expectations.
- Get a jump-start on general education classes, which are required on most college campuses.
- Learn to navigate college before undertaking a full course load.
- Obtain credits that transfer to many other colleges and universities, thus allowing students to obtain additional majors or minors without worrying about the cost of extra semesters in school.
