Franklin College recently welcomed Amy Richardson of Franklin, Indiana, as a newly elected member of its board of trustees. In this role, Richardson will contribute to the board’s efforts to shape policies, guide strategic priorities and advance the College’s long-term vision.
Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather expressed appreciation for the perspective Richardson brings as a business owner and community leader with deep ties to Franklin. “Amy’s commitment to our community and her experience as a leader and entrepreneur will be valuable additions to our board,” Prather said. “We are grateful for her willingness to engage with Franklin College and look forward to the insight and energy she will bring to this important work.”
Richardson is the co-founder and owner of Main & Madison Market Café in downtown Franklin and has been actively involved in strengthening the Franklin community through leadership and service. She served on the board of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce from 2019–25, including as vice chair in 2022 and chair in 2023 and 2024. She currently serves as a board member and secretary of the Franklin Development Corp. and as vice chair of the Franklin Chamber Foundation. A 2017 graduate of Leadership Johnson County, Richardson holds a bachelor’s degree in business communications from the University of Indianapolis.
Her extensive community involvement has given her a firsthand understanding of the opportunities that can emerge when local organizations work together, a perspective she hopes to bring to her service on the Franklin College Board of Trustees.
“In my role as trustee, I hope to bring a deeply community-minded perspective to the board, rooted in the belief that Franklin College and the City of Franklin share a very bright future together. My hope is to help cultivate partnerships where the College lifts the community and the community lifts the College with genuine relationships and shared successes,” Richardson said.
Richardson and her husband, Rob, have one son and five daughters and reside in Franklin.
