Franklin College will welcome David Mosedale to campus as he portrays Benjamin Franklin in the latest installment of the Voices from the Past Storyteller Series. This event is in partnership with the Johnson County Public Library and the Johnson County Museum of History in celebration of the nation’s 250^th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Mosedale, as Benjamin Franklin, will talk about his life and his many inventions. He will also answer questions from guests. The event begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 and will be hosted in the historic Custer Theatre on the first floor of Old Main, located at the corner of Branigin Boulevard and Monroe Street on the Franklin College campus.

Franklin, who was born in Boston in 1706 and died in Philadelphia in 1790, is most famous as a Founding Father of the United States of America. He was a pioneering scientist who proved that lightning is electricity and a prolific inventor who created bifocals, the Franklin stove, and the lightning rod. He was the only Founding Father to sign all four key documents establishing the United States as a country.

The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and registration is appreciated at bit.ly/VoicesBenFranklin.

Parking is available in the lots on the northwest and southwest corners of Branigin Blvd. and Monroe Streets.
