These three Franklin College alumni are the 2025 honorees:

Thurman V. Alvey III, class of 1996, D.O., Distinguished Alumni Award, has built an impressive career in sports medicine marked by professional excellence, patient-centered care and dedicated service — including to Franklin College.

At his outpatient practice with Forté Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Alvey treats acute injuries, arthritis, concussions, fractures and overuse conditions. His career spans nearly every level of athletic competition, from high school and collegiate events to NCAA tournaments and international play with USA Sled Hockey. Since 2012, he also has served as a team physician for the Indianapolis Colts, overseeing the franchise’s concussion program and becoming lead medical physician in 2022.

Passionate about training future physicians, Alvey mentors students, residents and fellows. He is a clinical assistant professor at Marian University’s Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine and previously was associate director of the Union Hospital Family Medicine Residency. A recognized authority in sports medicine, he has presented at the NFL Combine and national conferences and, in 2015, was named a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.

As a Franklin College student, Alvey played football, joined Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and served as a resident assistant. Today, he supports his alma mater through philanthropy, student engagement and alumni hiring. He and his wife, April, live in Greenwood, Indiana, and have four daughters.

Baylee Pinnick-Williams, class of 2011, Young Alumni Award, has devoted her career to protecting children and strengthening families, all while staying actively engaged with her college alma mater.

She serves as Johnson County’s local office director for the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS), leading 40 staff members and managing cases of children under court supervision for abuse or neglect. In this role, she works closely with law enforcement, schools, service providers and the prosecutor’s office to safeguard children and support families. Over her 13-year career with DCS, she advanced from family case manager to supervisor, division manager and now office director.

Pinnick-Williams is also active civically, serving on the Johnson County Community Corrections Board and the county’s Attendance Review Committee, and participating in Partners In Education (PIE) at Sugar Grove Elementary.

At Franklin College, she was active in Pi Beta Phi sorority and AmeriCorps. Today, she returns to campus to speak in classes, share career insights with students and recruit graduates for DCS through job fairs. She and her husband, Dallas, reside in Greenwood, Indiana, with their two daughters and a son.

Suzanne (Nekvasil) Robinson, class of 1987, Hail to Franklin Award, has achieved great success in corporate communications and continues to make a meaningful impact in communities and at Franklin College.

At Elevance Health (formerly Anthem, Inc.), Robinson leads culture communications, celebrating employees who live the company’s values and overseeing foundation communications that promote volunteerism and giving. She also directs best workplace award efforts, helping the company earn national recognition. Previously, she spent 22 years at Crowe LLP, guiding CEO communications, internal messaging and employer branding. Early in her career, she earned the Communicator of the Year Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and, as IABC Indianapolis president, helped the chapter earn international recognition.

Her community service includes leadership with the Indiana Canine Assistant Network, IU Health’s REV fundraiser and the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run. At Franklin College, she served nearly a decade on the Alumni Council, including two years as president, where she launched task forces aligning alumni expertise with the college’s strategic priorities and helped establish two scholarship funds. She remains active through class reunion planning, Tri Delta sorority’s alumnae activities and college philanthropy.

She and her husband, Mark, live in Carmel, Indiana, and have two sons.
