Franklin College welcomes Mike Robbins, author and expert in leadership, team performance, and company culture, to campus on Wednesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in the Branigin Room of the Napolitan Student Center. Robbins is the final speaker in the College’s 2024-2025 Convocation Lecture Series and will present “Nothing Changes Until You Do: How Growth Mindset and Self-Compassion Lead to Success and Fulfillment.” His lecture will touch on some of the core themes of his book, Nothing Changes Until You Do.
Robbins delivers keynotes and seminars around the world that empower people, leaders, teams and organizations to be more successful. He is the author of four additional books, Focus on the Good Stuff, Be Yourself Everyone Else is Already Taken, Bring Your Whole Self to Work and We’re All in This Together. For the past 24 years he has been a sought-after speaker and coach who delivers speeches and seminars around the country. His corporate clients include Google, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Walmart, eBay, Schwab, LinkedIn, Pixar, Airbnb and many others. He has also spoken to students, faculty, and staff at UC Berkeley, University of Alabama, Harvard, University of Oregon, Stanford, Rollins College, and many others. He and his work have been featured in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, as well as on ABC News and NPR. He is a regular contributor to Forbes, hosts a weekly podcast and his books have been translated into 15 languages. Prior to his current work, Robbins was drafted out of high school by the New York Yankees, but chose instead to play baseball at Stanford, where he pitched in the College World Series. He played 3 seasons of professional baseball before injuries to his pitching arm ended his career while he was still in the minor leagues.
