Fraternity Recruitment will take place September 10-19, 2018. The fraternities at Franklin College use a semi-structured recruitment where membership offers, or “bids”, may be distributed any time in the academic year after the fourth week of classes. Fraternity Recruitment begins on September 10. Each chapter plans its own recruitment events September 11-18 and will distribute “bids” starting on September 19 at the Interfraternity Council’s Welcome Night. Fraternity Recruitment will conclude with formal bid signing on September 19.
Any incoming student interested in fraternity life should complete the Fraternity Recruitment Registration Form.
Anyone participating in the fraternity recruitment process should look for a chapter where they feel the most comfortable. Fraternity membership is a lifelong commitment. All new students are encouraged to attend recruitment events, but it is important to remember there is no obligation to join an organization after registering for fraternity recruitment. Potential New Members are encouraged to attend each chapter’s recruitment events. These events are a great way to meet a lot of new people!
Sorority Recruitment will take place September 20-23, 2018. The sororities at Franklin College use a formal recruitment process, where membership offers, or “bids”, may only be distributed after the formal recruitment process. Sorority Recruitment includes Sisterhood Night, Philanthropy Night, and Preference Night. All potential new members will get a chance to meet members within every sorority during the first night of recruitment. Each incoming woman will be assigned a “Recruitment Guide”. Recruitment Guides are here to answer any questions about sorority life at Franklin College and guide women through the sorority recruitment process.
Any incoming student who wishes to participate in sorority recruitment must register for Sorority Recruitment.
Sorority Recruitment is a mutual selection process that is designed to give potential new members the chance to learn about the three sororities at Franklin College. It is an opportunity to meet sorority members, ask questions, define membership requirements, financial obligations, and time commitment. All new students are encouraged to participate in the sorority recruitment process. There is no obligation to join an organization at the end of the process and it is a great way to meet a lot of new people!
