Franklin College will host a Zoom presentation by speaker Genelle Guzman-McMillan on Sept. 6, 2022, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Guzman-McMillan’s remarks will be followed by a moderated Q&A, via chat.
Guzman-McMillan was the last survivor to be pulled from the 9/11 wreckage. She will recount her courageous story about surviving the fall of the Twin Tower and her wait for rescue in the rubble. Her story is one of strength and finding one’s faith even in the darkest of moments. She will share her powerful testament to prayer, God and the goodness of strangers.
Guzman-McMillan was born and raised in the tropical island country of Trinidad and Tobago and is a graduate of the Island’s Northeastern College. She migrated to the United States in the late 90’s.
Her book, Angel in the Rubble: The Miraculous Rescue of 9/11’s Last Survivor is available for purchase on Amazon and at Wild Geese Bookshop, located in Franklin.
Registration is required here. The event is sponsored by the Maurice V. and Rose S. Johnson Chair in the Humanities, Franklin College Convocation Lecture Series Committee, The Center for Diversity and Inclusion, Religious Life and Alumni Engagement and Campus Partnerships.
