Franklin College’s annual Homecoming and Alumni Weekend festivities will take place Tuesday, Oct.4 through Sunday, Oct. 9.

Registration, when required, is available online at alumni.franklincollege.edu/ or by calling (317) 738-8040. The deadline for registration is Friday, Sept. 23.

The highlights of Homecoming and Alumni Weekend festivities include:

Theatre production “Blithe Spirit,” Thursday, Oct. 6, Saturday Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9

Written by Noël Coward, the comic play will be directed by Franklin College Theatre Professor and Department Chair Robin Roberts. All performances will be held in Théâtre Margot in the Johnson Center for Fine Arts. General admission is $12. Admission for each performance is $8 for students and seniors (55 and older). Franklin College students, faculty and staff will receive free admission with a valid Franklin College ID. The box office opens one hour before the performance.

Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, Thursday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Alumni and friends are invited to join the celebration of a long tradition of athletic excellence. Alumni Dan Fell ’73, Mike Hall ’69 and Dawn (Privette) McNew ’87 will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. The banquet will be held in the Branigin Room of the Napolitan Student Center. Registration is required. Free to attend.

Roy E. Tillotson Alumni Golf Tournament, Friday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.

The Roy E. Tillotson Alumni Golf Tournament will be held at Hillview Country Club in Franklin. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. The registration fee of $75 per player includes green fees, cart, dinner and prizes. Registration is required.

1972 Class Reunion Old Gold Reception and Luncheon, Friday, Oct. 7 at 11:30 a.m.

Honoring the 50th reunion class of 1972, this traditional reception and luncheon is open to all alumni graduating in or prior to 1972. The luncheon will be held in the Dietz Center Dining Room in the Dietz Center for Professional Development. Cost is $12 per person and registration is required. Members of the class of 1972 will receive two complimentary tickets when registering.

Hail to Franklin Alumni Awards Presentation and Reception, Friday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.

Join Kerry Prather, Franklin College President, as he presents the 2022 Alumni Awards in the Branigin Room of the Napolitan Student Center. Since 1954, the Alumni Council of Franklin College has had an established award program designed to honor alumni and friends of the college, recognizing outstanding professional/community achievement as well as service to the College. Those to be honored include Chris Gonzalez ’86, Distinguished Alumni Award (posthumously); Mike ’96 and Mary ’97 Phillips, Jim Phillips ’18 and Rebecca Phillips ’21, Hail to Franklin Award; Erin Davis ’04, Young Alumni Award; and Jack Borgerding, Sandi Huddleston and Cindy Prather, Associate Alumni Award.  Registration is required. Free to attend.

All Alumni/Class Reunion Gathering, Friday, Oct. 7 from 7-10 p.m.

Join fellow alumni in the Branigin Room of the Napolitan Student Center for an informal gathering. The evening’s theme is “Through the Decades.” Enjoy music provided by DJ Ryan McDonald ’04 with MAC Events. Dinner provided by Pronto Taco owned by Isaac Daniel ’10. Registration requested. Free to attend.

Traditional Burning of the Privy, Friday, Oct. 7 at 9:45 p.m.

Join students and fellow alumni for the annual privy burn at the corner of Monroe and Forsythe streets.

Book Signing by David Carlson, Ph.D., Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the college bookstore in the lower level of the Napolitan Student Center. Carlson will sell and sign his newest book, “Caught in the Snare of the Hunter” as well as his previous one, “Like a Thief in the Night.” 

Esports Arena Open House, Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The college’s new esports arena will be open. Enter through south side of Spurlock Center. The broadcast of the 1990 Nintendo World Championship will be shown from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the winner announced at 11:45 a.m. For more information, please contact esports head coach Todd Burris at (317) 642-7188.

Grizzly Football vs. Anderson Ravens, Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1:30 p.m.

The Homecoming football game will be played at Stewart “Red” Faught Stadium where the Grizzlies will take on the Anderson Ravens. Crowning of the Homecoming king and queen will be held at halftime. Admission to the game is $5 per person at the gate for middle school age and up, free for anyone younger and individuals with a valid FC ID.
