Guest Pianist Timothy Stephenson to Perform on Campus

The Franklin College Department of Music will welcome guest pianist Timothy Stephenson to perform on Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in the Richardson Chapel. This event is free and open to the public.

Stephenson will perform a variety of pieces from Kreisleriana, a composition by Robert Schumann, and L’oiseau de feu (The Firebird), a ballet and orchestral concert work by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky.  

A native of Boston, Stephenson started his piano career at the age of eight. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree under the tutelage of Norman Krieger at Indiana University.

Winner of the 2018 Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Collegiate Scholarship Competition, Stephenson has been featured on the stages of the Indiana Landmarks Center and Indiana University’s Musical Arts Center, performing with the IU Concert Orchestra, as the winner of the Jacobs School of Music’s 2017 Concerto Competition.
