College Selects Presidential Search Firm

Franklin College has selected the executive search firm Isaacson, Miller to assist in the process of recruiting the college’s 17th president.

The search committee will immediately begin working with the firm to establish the qualities and values desired in the next president. The timeline details for the search are still being finalized, but the search committee hopes to provide its candidate recommendation to the board of trustees for a vote during the first quarter of 2020.

The 16-member search committee includes college trustees, alumni, faculty and staff.  The committee will continue to evolve and will include students and community member representation.  

The search committee co-chairs are Robert B. Brown and Christine S. Fields. Brown is a Franklin College Trustee and serves as CEO and director of Brickell Biotech, Inc. Brickel has offices in Boulder, Colorado, and Carmel, Indiana. Fields is a Franklin College Trustee, 1974 alumna and 2019 honorary doctorate recipient. She is retired and formerly served as Vice President and General Counsel for Eli Lilly Company’s International Operations.

Since 1982, Isaacson, Miller has recruited for the leadership of the nation’s civic infrastructure. The firm has approximately 200 employees, working among its Boston headquarters and in offices in Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. The firm completes nearly 300 searches each year. Its clients include leading colleges and universities, foundations, human-service agencies, research institutes, academic medical centers, economic development enterprises, arts and cultural groups, conservation and environmental organizations, and social justice and other national advocacy organizations. Almost all of its clients are not-for-profit organizations.
