College Continues to Climb in National College Rankings

Franklin College announced it continues to climb in the college and university rankings game, based on the recently released 2019 U.S. News and World Report Best College Rankings Report

“I am thrilled that Franklin College continues to be recognized as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation,” said Franklin College Provost, Lori Schroeder, Ph.D.  “The consistent improvement in our ranking each year is reflective of the innovative, forward-thinking transformation taking place in our curriculum’s unique blending of liberal arts and career-focused education.”

U.S. News and World Report describes the schools in The National Liberal Arts Colleges category as those that emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half of their degrees in the liberal arts fields of study.  The rankings also considered factors such as freshman retention rates, acceptance rates and faculty-to-student ratios.

Washington Monthly:

  • Liberal Arts Colleges: ranked 101st out of 228
  • Best Bang for the Buck – Midwest: ranked 157th out of 385


  • Best Value Colleges in Indiana: ranked 13th out of 34 

College Factual:

  • Best Colleges for the Money – nationwide: ranked 143rd out of 1,510
  • Best Colleges – Indiana: ranked 19th out of 43


  • Franklin College was the second biggest mover on the list of the 727 colleges and universities included, jumping 145 spots.
