Franklin College has announced the appointment of two new institutional advancement professionals, both with extensive higher education and fundraising experience.
Lindsay A. Wimmer has been appointed as director of development.
Wimmer brings nearly eight years of fundraising experience as a college development professional to her new role at Franklin. Most recently, she served at Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington as an associate director of development and alumni relations.
While there, she secured major gifts while building and managing relationships, closed multiple six figure gifts to endow scholarships and increased the alumni weekend fundraising program donors by 119 percent and dollars by 232 percent.
Wimmer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Indiana University. Previous work experience includes serving as a leadership annual giving officer at Butler University and working for Olympia Media Group.
“Franklin has such a distinctive student experience, much of which is made possible by its generous donors,” said Wimmer. “I am really excited about the opportunity to make a positive and meaningful impact to that experience.”
Wimmer began working at the college on Aug. 31, 2021.
Tracey J. Wischmeyer has been appointed as director of annual giving and stewardship.
Wischmeyer brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education and development to her new role at Franklin. Most recently, she served at Indiana University Foundation as the director of development campus-wide initiatives at IUPUI.
While there, she contributed to the IU Bicentennial Campaign generating revenue by increasing giving functions; successfully organized various campus events through strategic planning and execution; and enhanced various functions by developing strategic metrics reporting methods.
Wischmeyer earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communication from Indiana University and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis.
“I’m eager to bring my abilities and skills to the Advancement Team at Franklin College,” said Wischmeyer. “I am grateful to President Prather and Vice President Cummings to serve in this capacity.”
Wischmeyer began working at the college on Sept. 8, 2021.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled about Lindsay and Tracey joining our team,” said Dana Cummings, vice president for institutional advancement. “They are both exceptional development professionals with proven track records of success, and I’m confident their abilities will make strong contributions to our programs here at Franklin College. I can’t wait to introduce Lindsay and Tracey to our many wonderful alumni and donors.”
