On October 21 and 22, Franklin College presidential search firm consultants Jackie Mildner and Katie Stellato came to campus to meet with stakeholder groups from across campus and the surrounding area. The purpose of these meetings was to gain insight into Franklin College and its communities, to solicit feedback regarding the opportunities and needs of the college and to learn how they may translate into expectations for the college’s next president. Specific questions asked included:
1) If Franklin College has a successful hire, what would Franklin College look like in three years/what fundamental differences would exist?
2) Why should a new leader come to Franklin, Indiana and why Franklin College?
Meetings were held with the following constituents: Johnson County leaders, senior staff members, cabinet members, Student Congress leaders, Presidential Ambassador Corps members, Faculty Steering Committee, athletic staff leadership, members of the President’s Council for Diversity and Inclusion, Alumni Council members, Greek life leadership, and local alumni and faculty emeriti. In addition, several open forums were held for staff, faculty and students.
If you were unable to meet with the consultants or if you have additional thoughts you would like to provide, please feel free to email your insights to FranklinPresident@IMSearch.com. Please know the source of all provided insights will remain confidential.
The Presidential Search Committee’s next step will be to build constituent feedback into a job profile. This profile will be used in advertising for the position, sharing with potential candidates and sources for candidates, and as a basis for evaluation during candidate interviews. Once this profile is finalized, it will be shared broadly.
For those who have participated in this process, thank you. For all of you, thank you for your support and continued interest.
Trustees Robert Brown and Christi Fields, Co-Chairs, Presidential Search Committee
