FC Singers
The FC Singers is Franklin College’s large, mixed choir. Under the direction of Dr. DeForest, the FC Singers perform a variety of concerts on and off campus. In the spring of 2012 and 2016, the FC Singers toured in Ireland, and in 2018, the ensemble toured Austria. Participation is open to any FC campus member. Vocal range and timbre must be appropriate for the ensemble.
Men’s Chorus
The Men’s Chorus is in high demand to perform the National Anthem and Alma Mater at various campus functions. The Men’s Chorus has also performed the National Anthem at the Victory Field in Indianapolis and Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. Participation is open to any FC campus member. Vocal range and timbre must be appropriate for the ensemble.
Women’s Chorus
The Women’s Chorus performs a wide range of styles from Classical to Popular and is directed by Dr. DeForest. They are in high demand for campus performances and strive for musical excellence in the area of SSAA choral music. Participation is open to any FC campus member. Vocal range and timbre must be appropriate for the ensemble.
FC Marching Drumline
Under the direction of nationally-known percussion instructor, Josh Torres, this multi-faceted ensemble made its premier during the fall of 2016 and will continue to grow and develop into a major force in the collegiate drumline experience. Participation is open to all FC campus members with instructor approval.
FC Athletic Bands and Wind Ensemble
The Franklin College Athletic Band plays at all home football games and many home basketball games. The Wind Ensemble prepares for two concerts a year in coordination with the ending of the fall and spring semesters. All band students are members of both ensembles and enroll by signing up for MUS 125. Regardless of your musical experience, there is a place for all instrumentalists in the FC Band Program. Please see either Prof. Greenwell or Dr. Hayes for details. Scholarships are available for exceptionally talented individuals.
FC Jazz Collective
The FC Jazz Collective is directed by Dr. Rice and performs both chamber repertoire for events on campus and in the community. Participation is open to all members of the FC campus community with instructor approval.
