The Engineering major at Franklin College is a dual-degree, 4+1 program in partnership with Marian University’s Witchger School of Engineering. Students who pursue this major will be full-time Franklin College students for four years, earning a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics.
During their sophomore year, students will take one course per semester at Marian University. In years three and four, students will take courses at both institutions but will continue to be Franklin College students. In the fifth year, students transfer to Marian University to finish their engineering degree in one of three available tracks — chemical engineering, civil engineering or mechanical engineering. They will also take a single course in the spring semester of their final year to finish their applied mathematics degree. As students will transfer prior to the awarding of their applied mathematics degree, they will maintain eligibility for financial aid packages at both institutions. At the end of the fifth year, students will be awarded a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Franklin College and a bachelor’s degree in their chosen engineering discipline from Marian University.
