Franklin College announced today it has received its allotment of emergency funds provided for direct disbursement to students for assistance in meeting COVID-19-related expenses. These funds, received this week, were provided as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Based on guidance from the Department of Education (DOE), the college will distribute funds to all full-time, Title IV-eligible students based on demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Free Student Aid (FAFSA). To receive funds, students are required to document their individual need for such assistance by submitting the Emergency Relief Grant Application form developed by the college. The deadline for students to submit a form is Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
“We are pleased to provide our students with this financial assistance as they and their families manage the challenges associated with this pandemic,” said Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather.
