Campus News

Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather addressed college constituents today through a video message sharing the Return to Campus Plan for the upcoming fall semester. The plan has been themed “Fortify Franklin,” with its focus on safely providing students with as much of the traditional Franklin College experience as possible.

Prather’s video message can be viewed here.

“’Fortify Franklin’ really is a road map for ensuring that our campus community can return to its important business with every one of us being responsible for our own and each other’s health and safety,” said Prather.

The college has partnered with local health care professionals and is following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Indiana Department of Health in developing the comprehensive plan for safety. The complete plan is available on the college’s website here.

“We will continue to monitor the trends of COVID-19 and consult frequently with the local health department,” said Prather. “The situation remains fluid, and our plan will be adjusted as conditions warrant. Our decisions will be guided, as they have been since this challenge surfaced last spring, by the priority of health and safety.”

Classes are scheduled to resume at the college on Monday, Aug. 31.

Ongoing updates regarding the college’s response to COVID-19 can be found on its website.
