The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program at Franklin College is a comprehensive initiative aimed at increasing retention, academic performance, and graduation rates among first-generation students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities. The program is 100% funded by a federal grant and serves students through individualized, high-impact support to help them thrive through graduation.
| Orientation | Students begin with a comprehensive orientation to build community and map their path to success. |
| First & Second-Year Experience | Structured programming builds study skills, financial literacy, mental health & resilience, and career exploration. |
| Individualized Success Plans | Ongoing meetings with academic coaches for guidance, progress monitoring, and tailored support. |
| Junior & Senior Years | Support to identify and complete internships and undergraduate research, plus preparation for graduate school and careers. |
| What You Get | Priority registration; One (1) free summer course; Access to funding for tuition (available if financial need is determined and if funds are available) |
Students interested in joining the program must complete an application and meet the eligibility criteria. Once selected, participants sign a program agreement and gain access to early registration, targeted academic support, and resource connections.
Applicants must meet one or more of the following:
Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Closed during lunch, Noon to 1 p.m.
