We make every effort to meet your scheduling needs by offering afternoon and evening appointments. Visit us from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Sunday – Thursday.
Although not required, an appointment is the best way to ensure you’ll have the best experience when visiting the Write place. To schedule an appointment, click here.
At the beginning of the session, the Write Place associate will ask you about your assignment and your goals for the appointment. You can expect to focus on two or three areas of concern during your visit. These areas might include grammar, mechanics, organization, structure, idea development, argument support, etc. To get the most out of your session, be sure to bring the writing prompt or assignment with you.
We don’t offer quick fixes. Instead, we focus on long-term improvement. We also don’t proofread entire papers. We leave that up to you. But we’re happy to help you polish your proofreading skills. Just ask!
No! We welcome you to visit the Write Place at any point in the writing process.

Franklin College classes are rigorous. We’ll help you rise to the challenge in our weekly structured study sessions.
We are your peers. We know exactly what you’re going through. We’ve mastered the skills necessary to succeed in high-stakes courses and we’re ready to share our knowledge and insights with you.

Students who feel that they could benefit from supplemental instruction in a course should first contact their professor for suggestions and help. If available, students in courses with an academic mentor should also attend review sessions with that mentor. If these options aren’t helpful or the student prefers a one-on-one tutoring session, he or she can sign up for peer tutoring.
Peer tutoring is free of charge to students, although tutors are paid by the school. Tutoring can be arranged for any subject and any course. To request a tutor, students can stop by the ARC Desk (first floor Hamilton Library).
Please request a tutor as soon as possible, as availability is limited. The ARC staff will make every effort to find a tutor for the subject requested.
Franklin College is committed to providing equal access to students with disabilities. Reasonable and appropriate accommodations will be provided to students with disabilities to ensure equal access to academic programs and other college-sponsored activities.
