How to Apply as an International Student

We look forward to welcoming you to the Franklin College campus and are excited to help guide you through the application process.

Applying to Franklin College

  1. Complete the application. You may select either the online or Common Application. There is a $40 application fee.
  2.  Indicate your country of citizenship.
  3. Provide an official transcript from all secondary institutions attended.
  4. Optional: Send us your SAT or ACT scores. You may choose to share an official SAT or ACT exam score as part of your application.
    • SAT: Average admit earns 1000-1180
    • ACT Average admit earns 20-26
  5. Attend a Zoom interview with the admissions team.

Submit your English proficiency test score

We require English proficiency test scores from all international applicants, and will accept any of the following:

  • TOEFL: Minimum score of 79 on the Internet Based; 550 on the Paper Based
  • IELTS: Minimum score of 6.5
  • Cambridge English: Minimum B2 level
  • MELAB: Minimum writing 77, minimum speaking 3. In lieu of an exam, applicants may complete the master level course with a passing score.
  • Duolingo: Minimum score of 105
  • Pearson: Minimum score of 53
  • ELS: Complete level 112 with passing score
  • TLC: Complete level 9 with passing score

The examination requirement may be waived for students who have successfully completed substantial coursework in English or for students who have mastered approved English language programs such as Interglobal or ELS. For more information regarding English proficiency requirements at Franklin College, please contact the Office of Admissions.
