The Apogee

Students in Journal Editing (CWR 110) and Journal Publishing (CWR 111) produce the school’s annual literary journal, the Apogee, which publishes the best poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and art submissions from Franklin College students, as well as high school students from around the world. The Apogee staff host award-winning campus-wide Open Mic events, as well as an annual journal release party.

Submissions are open year-round. For details and guidelines, please visit the Apogee Submissions Page. Inquiries may also be sent to apogee@FranklinCollege.edu.

For even more on Apogee, visit the student-run website and blog, which includes electronic versions of past issues.

Prizes

The Apogee staff award two sets of prizes annually. First, the editorial staff names the best in fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and visual art as submitted by Franklin College students. Awards and honorariums are presented at the end-of-year release party.

Also awarded by the editorial staff, the Emily Stauffer and Kathy Carlson High School Contest, so named in honor of beloved Professors Emeriti, recognizes outstanding work by high school students, and accepts submissions from around the globe.
