Pre-Professional Programs

Health Professions

Franklin College is well known for its excellent preprofessional health programs. For example, in the last 32 years 83 percent of the Franklin College premedical students have gained admission to medical school. This success has been recognized by the Johnson County Medical Society which said, “Franklin College pre-medical students have, over the years, consistently maintained one of the highest rates of acceptance in the nation.” The College offers four year pre-professional preparation in the areas of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, medical technology, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and pre-physician assistant studies. Biology and Chemistry majors also have the option of pursuing cooperative programs in some of these areas (dentistry, medical technology and pharmacy) which allow Franklin students to complete their undergraduate training in three rather than four years.
