  • Erika Brock

I gained first-hand experience on how national campaigns function. Working on a presidential campaign taught me that campaigns change day to day and I had to be prepared at all times to stop a project and instantly start a new one. The office of career development's professional development workshops helped me land the internship and develop my resume. Mock interviews gave me confidence. Students are lucky to have the opportunity to practice their skills. This practice makes students more confident when they apply and interview for internships and jobs. I gained so much from my internship, including delegation and time management skills. Most importantly, I learned what I want to do with my life, which is manage a presidential campaign. Through this experience, I gained a network of people who can help me reach these goals. - Ericka Brock '17

I met Franklin College alum, Jessie Smith, during the mock interview process. When I began looking for an internship, Jessie told me about the opportunity with her team. Without this Franklin College connection, I wouldn’t have had this opportunity. When I returned to campus, I was able to apply what I had learned during my internship to my classes. The internship helped me realize my passion for non-profit work. - Juliana Eckel '17
