The Franklin College Music Department will be hosting their annual instrumental and choral holiday concerts from Thursday, Dec. 4 through Saturday, Dec. 6. All concerts will be performed in the Clarence E. and Inez R. Custer Theatre in Old Main, located on the corner of Branigin Boulevard and Monroe Street. Performances are free and open to the public.

Instrumental Holiday Concert

The Holiday Instrumental Concert will be presented on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. Students in the Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble and FC Band will perform holiday-themed melodies.

The students will be instructed by Jonathan Rice, D.M.A., lecturer of music theory and applied woodwinds, Randy Greenwell, band director and head of brass studio and Josh Torres M.M., lecturer of music.

Choral Holiday Concert

The Holiday Choral Concerts will be presented on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. Featured performances will include the FC Singers, FC Women’s Chorus and FC Men’s Chorus.

Eric DeForest, D.M.A., assistant professor of music, director of vocal choral activities and music department co-chair, will direct the performances. The choral students will be accompanied by Chang Shen, M.S.
