Why do the student and I have to sign, date and return the accommodation memo to the Director of Academic Resources?

We want to ensure that students are providing professors with their memos in a timely manner. We also want to provide an early opportunity for professors and students to open a dialogue about the student's needs. This gives the student the opportunity to explain his or her needs and for the two of you to determine how the accommodations will be implemented in your class. We asked that you sign, date and return it to the ARC so we can ensure that the memo has been delivered and both parties understand the required accommodations.
