As part of Franklin College’s 2013-14 Convocation Lecture Series and in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Dr. Stacy Downing will present a lecture called “The Truth Will Set You Free” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 in the Richardson Chapel.
Downing’s lecture will focus on the idea of honesty and truth in leaders, especially Dr. King. She will help audience members assess their own commitment to honest leadership.
Downing is the associate vice president of Delaware State University. She received her doctorate degree from the University of Cincinnati in urban educational leadership.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
Each year, the college hosts the lecture series based on one of its five core values – respect, honesty, responsibility, faith and lifelong pursuit of learning. This year’s focus is on honesty.
