Kelly Nicole Eckart Memorial Scholarship Fund
SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND
Few people touched as many lives on the Franklin College campus in so short a time as Kelly Eckart. An 18-year-old graduate of Triton Central High School in Shelby County, Kelly dreamed of attending Franklin College. Her dream came true but, sadly, only for a short time. A few weeks into her first semester at Franklin, Kelly was driving home to Shelby County from her job at a Franklin business when her life violently ended. Kelly's death touched everyone at Franklin College. She was a dedicated student who ultimately taught everyone several lessons. Kelly taught us about love, death and the devastating consequences of violence. Following her death, the family and friends of Kelly Eckart established a scholarship fund to help other students realize the dream that had meant so much to Kelly: Attending Franklin College.
