John Bergdoll Memorial Endowed Scholarship
John Bergdoll kept one foot in academics and one foot in Indiana's fertile soil through most of his life. The 1926 Franklin College graduate was a farmer in Jackson and Lawrence counties and, for several years, was a car and farm implement dealer. He also was a teacher, working in schools in Marengo, Fairmount, Perrysville and Bloomington. Mr. Bergdoll died in 1986, but his wife, Orpha Bergdoll, saw to it that his memory survives with this scholarship honoring outstanding Franklin College students.
The John Bergdoll Memorial Endowed Scholarship is given to a junior or senior student with financial need. Recipients will be selected based on the leadership qualities they have displayed, both in the classroom and on campus. The financial aid office selects recipients.
